Job Shadow post/ Final Journal post 11/30/2011

For my job shadow, I will be going to Sleeping Giant Ski Area, to be with the Ski Patrol for the day. I will learn what the Ski Patrol does, and hopefully it will be a future job after graduating the USAF SERE school after high school. Ski Patrol's job is to ski all over the mountain looking for people to help if they are in need of help, EMT work on the mountain, and searching for lost skiers/snowboarders.  I will be going with Scott Larsen, a Ski Patrol at Sleeping Giant. I am really looking forward to this job shadow because it will help me prepare for being in Ski Patrol later in life.

Vocab word #31 Gross Margin: A company's total sales revenue minus its cost of goods sold, divided by the total sales revenue, expressed as a percentage. #32 Earnings per share: The portion of a company's profit allocated to each outstanding share of common stock. Earnings per share serves as an indicator of a company's profitability. Example: The earnings per share is a good indicator of how much money a company is making. Sentence: The company posted their earnings per share in the weekly newsletter

Transaction: I bought 75 shares of Texas Instruments this week. texas Instruments is a producer of electronic components and electronics such as high end calculators. They are in the consumer goods sector, and the high in their 52 week information was $24.34, and a high of $36.71 per share. I predict the price to go up around christmas because more electronics will be sold with Texas Intruments parts in them.
